Who I Am
Hey guys! My name is Ryan Zukoff and I’m a web/tool developer, and scripter. I’m currently working in the film industry. I enjoy hiking, going to the beach, going for a morning or night jog, and gaming. I’ve been playing a couple of DnD campaigns and occasionally play board games. My favorite by far is Catan although I do love Monopoly as well. However its a struggle to get any one to play monopoly becomes the games can take forever. I also own a home with my girlfriend. It was constructed in the 50’s and it was never really updated so we’re slowly fixing that up as well.
What I Do
Going into more about what I do professionally, I am a Pipeline TD in the Animation & VFX Industry. I’m currently employed at a company called The Third Floor Inc and have been with them almost 4 years now. We work on films for studios like Marvel, Warner Bros, Disney and tons of other companies. To better understand what I do, essentially in an animation or vfx production dozens of applications are used if not more. I develop tools within those applications to make the artists more efficient and make it easy for them to move their work in between the different applications. On top of that I create tools within the applications to actually make the artists quicker by automating and eliminating tedious tasks. This allows us to to finalize and deliver shots cheaper and faster.
Where Am I
I’m currently living in Los Angeles, California. I’ve moved around a bit before ending up here though. I was born and raised in Michigan. I then went to college in San Francisco where I earned my degree in Animation & VFX and had my first job. After that I then moved here in Los Angeles and have been here over 5 years now.
I do love it here it never really gets cold, its always sunny and there’s so much to do! Let me explain, living in LA allows me to go camping in a forest, hiking up mountains, skiing in the snow, or swimming at the beach all within a short 30 min – 1 hour drive. LA is a huge mixing pot of people, and there’s a ton of people here. At time of writing there are almost 19 million people in the Greater Los Angeles Area. With that there is tons of culture, amazing food and tons of activities to do every day.
